I started gardening a year before I retired from my federal career as a GS-15. I did this not only to grow food but to keep the mind going, build new synapses, and make sure I got outside every day. I have 14 raised beds and learned to preserve my own food. I have a little tiny homestead!

I am also a Viking. All red hair comes from Vikings. I go to the Asheville OH Viking Festival every year complete with authentic costuming and a sword. I love a good costume...

These are my favorite flower. I carried them in my wedding bouquet and put them on the cover of my first published book Of Angels and Orphans.

Nothing makes a statement piece like a good gargoyle.

Teavana's chai tea is my favorite. When they went out of business, I had to scour the web for a recipe. I now make my own delicious tea mix.

Gnomes are my garden buddies. They watch over my plants and listen to me as I grow my plant babies into produce.

I spent 22 years in the US Army, retiring as an LTC in 2007. I was stationed in PA, DC, GA, Korea, and deployed to Kuwait. Awesome career and memories.

I wrote my first book on a typewriter in the dark ages before the invention of the personal computer. Called "Love Shall Reign" it was a story I originally wrote as a movie script in my high school creative writing class. I later took that handwritten script and put it into book form. I will someday rewrite it and put it on my published shelf.

I worked at Wright Patterson Air Force Base as a civilian for 29 years. The Wright Brothers invented the airplane in Dayton OH. Get over it, NC.

I'm an Irish redhead (and Scottish, English, German). Erin go bragh! Is there anything else to say?
